We are pleased to announce the return of our annual Member’s Clinic May 7-8, 2011. Ron Burkey has agreed to be our clinician again this year. The clinic is open to all members of any handler level as well as any dog breed. Don’t sleep on this opportunity work with a wonderful handler and clinician, slots will fill up fast! Annual Meeting – Thank You!
THCSDA would like to thank those who made our annual meeting. We’d also like to give special thanks to Ron Burkey for speaking at the event. The meeting was productive and we are looking forward to 2011. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.
Annual Member’s Meeting and Holiday Party
Hello everyone!
We hope you can join us for our annual member’s meeting and holiday party on December 5th, Sunday, from 2:00 to 6:00!! There is a flyer posted on this site under Attachments. If you can’t open it,you can also find all of the information on our website.
We planned this for late in the afternoon incase you will be in Brashear for the Goracke’s Novice trial on Saturday.
Some of the things to look forward to:
***Guest Speaker, Ron Burkey A casual round table discussion on the Do’s and Don’ts of trialing, etiquette, and what judges are looking for.
***Santa Paws Gift Exchange
***A fabulous dinner
***Sheep to work (if you want)
***Voting for new board members
***Pictures with Santa Claus
Location: K9 Country Club, in their party room with access to the beach club (weather permitting).
Bring your pet or just come and enjoy, canine free!
Your invitaion and Straw Ballot will be mailed shortly. Please be on the look out.

We are now scheduling practice day sessions for the summer and fall. If you as facility owners know some dates we can have a practice day at your place, please email me and we will set something up for you. Thanks in advance.

Member’s Clinic Cancelled
Unfortunately, because of the low number signing up we will have to cancel our Member’s Clinic with Ron Burkey scheduled for this weekend. We will check with Ron and reschedule on another date, possible in the fall. Thanks for your interest.
Nigel Watkins Clinic
Next weekend, January 30th & 31st
Nigel Watkins, from Wales, will be hosting a herding clinic in Zephyr, TX.
Nigel is one of Wales’ most consistent and top performing sheepdog handlers. He is a 12-time member of the Welsh National team, a Welsh National Champion and Reserve World Champion. Over the years Nigel has trained many top dogs and he has an uncanny knack of finding the right dogs for himself and others. Having competed at the highest level, Nigel has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share, and he does so by teaching clinics and judging sheepdog trials around the globe.
Clinic Info:
Come Saturday or Sunday or Both
$75 per day / per dog
$20 per day to audit
All levels of dog or handler welcome
Begins at 8:00am
THCSDA will provide beverages…Pot-Luck lunch – bring something to share

Dry Creek SDT Update
Don’t Miss the Dry Creek Stock Dog Trial next weekend!
January 23rd & 24th.
Today – Friday the 15th is the deadline to enter…. please email JoAnne Noble jnoble@gvtc.com by end of today to let her know the entry is in the mail. We will not be able to add on last minute entries or allow for day of exhibitions.
This is a FULL two day trial – Saturday we begin:
7:00 AM Handlers meeting…..7:15 AM First dog at the post.
If you would like to walk the course, please do it on Friday or before 7:15AM
We will not be stopping for a group lunch break… concessions will be sold on site and will start at 6:30 am and run until the trial is over. Click for menu.
Campers, Handlers, and Spectators: Please read Rules of the Ranch and Please adhere to all posted signs.
SATURDAY PARTY:
Join us for a bonfire jam session up at the Noah house
Bring your guitars, voices, food and drinks to share, and a chair.
It’s going to be a great time for all!!!
